Stop 1 — Hanoi Old Quarter: landmarks, legends, and local life

Meet your guide at St. Joseph Cathedral (40 Nhà Chung St.) in the heart of Hanoi. After a warm welcome and a quick safety briefing, you’ll mount your bicycle and begin pedalling through the famous Old Quarter. Your guide will bring the neighbourhood’s centuries-old streets to life with stories of merchants, dynasties, and everyday Hanoians — a history lesson that no museum can match. This is cycling Vietnam the way it should be: slow, immersive, and full of surprises.

Stop 2 — Long Bien Bridge and the Red River Delta

Leave the city buzz behind as you roll across the iconic Long Bien Bridge, one of Hanoi’s most treasured landmarks. On the other side, you’ll enter the lush Red River Delta — a world away from the traffic and noise of central Hanoi. Paddy fields, riverside paths, and quiet village lanes make this one of the most scenic sections of any Hanoi day tour.

Stop 3 — Banana Island: Hanoi’s best-kept secret

Cross onto Banana Island (Bãi Giữa), a hidden island community sitting in the middle of the Red River. Despite being just minutes from the city centre, life here moves at a completely different pace. Pause for refreshing drinks with your group beneath the shade of banana palms while your guide shares the island’s fascinating stories. This is the kind of Hanoi authentic experience that doesn’t appear in guidebooks.

Stop 4 — Floating village: culture on the water

Continue to a nearby traditional floating village, where families have lived and worked on the river for generations. Hear firsthand accounts of their way of life — a rare glimpse into a community that’s slowly disappearing as modern Hanoi grows around them.

Stop 5 — Hanoi street food tasting: eat like a local

No Hanoi food tour bicycle experience is complete without eating. Fuel up at local vendors handpicked by your guide: sip the world-famous Hanoi egg coffee, crunch into sticky rice ice cream, and wash it all down with ice-cold Vietnamese green tea. These aren’t tourist traps — they’re the spots locals actually go to.

Return — back to the Old Quarter

Wind back through Hanoi’s charming back streets for a final loop before arriving at the end point, refreshed, full, and full of stories to tell.

Exhilarating bicycle tour of Hanoi!

Fantastic tour! An exhilarating bike ride through the old quarter and across Long Bien Bridge. Brian is an excellent guide. We felt safe on the bicycles with him in Hanoi traffic, he made sure we had plenty of hydration and snacks. We very much enjoyed tasting local food like the egg coffee and sticky rice ice creams. Brian’s local knowledge and understanding of the colourful history of Hanoi bought the tour to life. A must do tour especially if you only have a short time in Hanoi, you will see and experience so much. Highly recommend.

Backstreet bicycle tour

I had a great tour on a bike through backstreets, over a market, some historical hotspots, a drink at an authentic cafe with a beautiful view, passed by some street art, went partly over the long bien bridge, through the countryside “banana island”, a stopover at a local little tea spot with lovely sweets, and an amazing nice desert from a lady at the street, and even more, with super friendly and caring Brian, who knows a lot about the history and also tells some funny facts and stories. I had a great time!
