5. Salt Coffee (Cafe muoi)

First created in Hue in 2010, the Salt coffee trend quickly rose up in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city for people to try. Salted coffee (cà phê muối) in Hanoi’s Old Quarter is a must-try, rich blend of strong Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk, and savory, whipped cream.

4. Iced coffee with milk (Ca phe sua da)

Coffee was first introduced by the French in the 1850s, Hanoi people combined between iced coffee and sweetened condensed milk becoming popular in the 1940s. Vietnamese iced milk coffee, also known as ca phe sua da is an iconic beverage featuring robust, dark-roast coffee (typically Robusta) dripped slowly through a metal phin filter over ice and sweetened condensed milk. This is one of the most popular Vietnamese coffee drinks that can be found from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city.

3. Yogurt coffee (Ca phe sua chua)

Since the 2000s, Yogurt coffee (ca phe sua chua) has been a popular Hanoi specialty coffee drink, with a sweet, and slightly tangy taste. It combines strong Robusta coffee with fermented yogurt and condensed milk, and is usually served iced or frozen.

2. Coconut coffee (Cafe dua)

Coconut coffee is a modern version of traditional Vietnamese coffee that mixes strong robusta coffee with coconut milk and ice. Although there is no exact time the product was born, it has been well known since 1990. The result is a creamy, fragrant drink that is both refreshing and rich in flavor.
